In October 2025 Pete Smith and his Wife Alma, AKA 'Rosie the Rivetter' drove the 300 miles from Lancs to Kent to fit the tail section, complete with tailwheel in its bay (yes, it does retract) to the fuselage. Assisted by KBoBM volunteers and the project's Peter Lancaster, all controls were connected and remaining skins attached to the assembly, before the fuselage was lowered until the tailwheel took the weight - for the first time in nearly 80 years.
